A reputable public sector institution is seeking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced and results-oriented professional for the position of Director of Finance.

Job Purpose

•To provide leadership, technical and administrative direction for the efficient and effective management of the financial functions of the institution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

•Provide input into the formulation of the institution's financial policies
•Lead the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of financial programmes and activities
•Ensure the efficient and effective management of financial, human and material resources
•Mobilise financial resources to support the institution's operational and strategic objectives
•Oversee the preparation and timely submission of annual budgets and financial reports
•Ensue the accurate analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial statements
•Ensure compliance with financial laws, regulations, fiscal policies and international public sector accounting standards (IPSAS).
•Oversee the implementation of the performance management system within the directorate
•Maintain effective collaboration with Ministries, Departments, Agencies and other stakeholders on financial matters

Qualification Required & Experience

•Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
•Chartered member of a recognised professional accounting body such as ICAG, ACCA or CPA
•Minimum of 10 years of relevant post-bachelor's work experience
•At least 5 years of experience in a senior management position
•Strong knowledge of public financial management systems and regulatory frameworks

Age Limit: Applicants should not be more than 55 years of age at the time of appointment
