Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is seeking to recruit suitably qualified professionals for the underlisted position: Project Finance Officer (PFO)
Responsibilities
•The Project Finance Officer will work under the direct supervision of the National Project Manager for the climate resilient landscapes for sustainable livelihoods in Northern Ghana (CRLSLNG) project to ensure the achievement of the expected Outcomes and Outputs of the Project as set in the approved GCF funding proposal document and the Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between the environmental protection authority (EPA) of the Ministry of Environment Programme (UNEP).
•S/he will be responsible for the overall financial management for effective implementation of the project.
Tasks
•Under the supervision of the National CRLSLNG Project Manager, the Project Finance Officer will be responsible for the execution of financial management activities such as maintaining project accounts, maintaining cash book and ledgers, undertaking bank reconciliations, preparing quarterly and annual expenditure reports, preparing annual financial statements, among others. The Project Finance Officer will be based in the Project Management unit located on the premises of the environmental protection authority (EPA).
Qualification Required & Experience
•Must have at least a first degree in accounting and/or finance and a master's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or any other equivalent degree
•Must be a full member-in-good and 1 national professional body in finance and accounting and has practice for at least 5 years
•Must possess at least 10 years post qualification experience in finance and accounting and within a structured system
•Must have at least 4 years professional experience in accounting and finance within a program, project or reference structure with the United Nations, World Bank or a multilateral system which implemented by a national agency of the Government of Ghana.
•Knowledge and experience in the preparation and implementation of financial policies and procedures
•Must possess extensive experience in working with EPA internal accounting and financial procedures and processes for at least 5 years
•Ability to communicate accounting and financial thoughts and practice effectively, both orally and in writing, is required
•Must possess sufficient knowledge and training in financial management of development projects funded by the United Nations, World Bank or multilateral organisations
•Proven experience in working with big data to obtain, evaluate and interpret factual information and to prepare accurate and complete reports for high level considerations
•Proficiency in oral and written English is required.
•Ability to work under pressure with short lead times
