Position Details
• Role: Sonographer
• Location: MSIG Kokomlemle Centre
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Reporting Line: Centre Manager
• Probation: 3 months
THE ROLE
The Sonographer is responsible for providing high-quality ultrasound imaging and diagnostic services to clients at the MSIG Kokomlemle Centre. The role supports clinicians with accurate imaging reports and ensures excellent client care while adhering to MSIG clinical quality standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Service Delivery
• Perform obstetric, gynecological, abdominal, and other ultrasound examinations as required.
• Produce accurate and timely ultrasound reports to support clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions.
• Prepare and position clients appropriately before ultrasound procedures.
• Ensure high standards of client care, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality during all procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with clinicians and other healthcare staff to support quality service delivery.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with MSIG clinical protocols, infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, and professional guidelines.
• Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of ultrasound equipment and report faults promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all ultrasound procedures conducted.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives within the centre.
Equipment & Operational Support
• Ensure proper handling and effective utilization of ultrasound equipment and accessories.
• Monitor availability of consumables and supplies required for ultrasound services and report shortages promptly.
• Support efficient scheduling and coordination of ultrasound appointments.
Client Care & Collaboration
• Provide clear explanations and reassurance to clients regarding ultrasound procedures.
• Always maintain professionalism and compassionate client interaction.
• Promote client-centered care and uphold MSIG values and safeguarding standards.
• Work collaboratively with the centre team to support smooth clinical operations.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
• Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana and in good standing.
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in a reputable health facility.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound procedures.
• Computer literate with good reporting and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be client-focused, professional, and committed to quality healthcare delivery.
• Strong collaboration with clinicians and centre teams to support quality healthcare delivery.
