OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
•Accountable for collecting and preparing process plant samples for internal and external laboratory analysis on a shift and daily basis.
•Monitor sampler performance in the process plant and hand over prepared samples to the Laboratory Technician for external submission.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Collect accurate daily process plant samples and prepare them for submission at the end of each shift.
•Inspect auto-samplers, ensure they operate effectively, and report operational issues to the Senior Plant Metallurgist.
•Assist with sample preparation activities including drying, crushing, pulverizing, splitting and sieving of ore and slurry samples.
•Support laboratory activities by operating the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, preparing reagents, and assisting with chemical and metallurgical test work.
•Maintain accurate records of sample collection, preparation and analysis results while supporting daily metallurgical activities and investigations.
•Follow safety, health, environmental and quality procedures and maintain good housekeeping in sampler areas and the Metallurgical Laboratory.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education & Qualification
•GCE O level, Middle School Leaving Certificate, WASSCE or NVTI.
Experience
•Minimum of 2-3 years relevant working experience in a gold processing plant.
Knowledge & Skills
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver required results.
•Physical fitness with good interpersonal and communication skills.
•Valid Ghanaian Driving Licence with the ability to drive a light vehicle.
•Attention to detail, reliability and a strong commitment to safe work practices.
•Ability to work under direction and supervision while supporting team objectives.
