Job Vacancy For Pharmacy Stock Attendant
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Stock Attendant to assist with the receiving, storage, monitoring, and distribution of medicines, medical supplies, and other pharmacy products. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate stock records and ensure products are stored safely and appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive medicines, medical supplies, and other pharmacy products and verify quantities against delivery documents.
• Check product names, batch numbers, expiry dates, packaging, and quantities upon receipt.
• Arrange and store products according to pharmacy procedures and storage requirements.
• Apply FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) principles to minimise expired stock.
• Issue medicines and supplies to authorised pharmacy staff as requested.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems or stock cards.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and report discrepancies.
• Monitor expiry dates and promptly report products that are expired or approaching expiry.
• Separate damaged, expired, recalled, or quarantined products according to pharmacy procedures.
• Assist with preparing stock for internal distribution or approved customer orders.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organised stockroom.
• Ensure appropriate storage conditions, including temperature and security requirements where applicable.
• Report low-stock items, stock losses, damaged products, and other concerns to the pharmacist or supervisor.
• Maintain proper documentation for stock receipts, issues, returns, and adjustments.
• Follow pharmacy policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable regulatory procedures.
• Assist during audits, inspections, and periodic stocktaking.
Qualification Required & Experience
Requirements
• SHS certificate with experience.
• certificate in Pharmacy Technician/Dispensing Technology.
• Purchasing and supply.
• Accounting.
• Inventory Management, or a related qualification.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, hospital, warehouse, or medical-supply environment is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of basic stock-control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems is an advantage.
• Honest, responsible, organised, and dependable.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a pharmacy team.

• Accuracy of stock records.
• Minimal stock discrepancies and losses.
• Proper storage and organisation of medicines and supplies.
• Effective monitoring of expiry dates.
• Timely replenishment and issuance of stock.
• Compliance with pharmacy storage and stock-control procedures.
• Accurate and complete documentation.
Reports To: General manager
Pharmacist-in-Charge / Pharmacy Manager
