Job summary
• The Analyst, Commercial Planning supports the Marketing business by transforming commercial, financial, customer, market and product data into clear planning insights, forecasts, business cases and performance reports. The role helps MTN Ghana make evidence-based decisions on revenue growth, product performance, pricing, promotions, investments and resource allocation by building reliable models, challenging assumptions and translating analysis into practical recommendations for stakeholders.

Key Tasks
• Financial Modeling: Develop, maintain and improve revenue, cost, profitability and investment models that support business planning, product evaluation, pricing decisions, promotion assessments and management decision-making.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Support annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-term financial plans and commercial business cases by preparing assumptions, validating inputs, identifying key drivers and explaining movements against targets.
• Data Analysis: Analyze financial, commercial, customer, product and market performance data to identify trends, variances, risks and growth opportunities, and convert findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Reporting: Prepare clear reports, dashboards and presentations that explain performance, highlight emerging issues, track progress against targets and support decision-making by senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with the company's strategic goals.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategies and financial planning.
• Process Improvement: Identify, design and implement improvements that make business planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis faster, more accurate and more scalable, including opportunities to automate recurring models, templates and dashboards.
• Financial Model Automation: Support the automation of Excel-based revenue and business planning models to improve forecast quality, reduce manual effort, strengthen documentation and enable more efficient scenario analysis.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education:
• A university degree in Finance / Business Administration / Business Management / Accounting, Economics / Statistics / Mathematics / Data Analytics or an equivalent business or quantitative qualification.
Experience:
• 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or a similar role, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
Training:
• Per skills analysis
Professional/Technical competencies:
• Adequate knowledge in Financial Analysis, reporting, forecasting and budgeting
• Adequate knowledge in Business & Financial Acumen
• Commercial Acumen
• Basic understanding of GSM operations & Telecommunications Industry.
• Advanced knowledge in trend analysis and interpretation
• Adequate knowledge of High-Volume data analysis
• Advanced knowledge of reporting tools e.g. Power BI, SQL.
• In depth knowledge of the market and industry
• Knowledge of standard policies, practices, and procedures
• Good communication skills – both verbal and written
• Agile way of work
