Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Finance and Logistics Officer are to manage all financial record keeping for a medium non-governmental organization (NGO), as well as coordinate importation of items through customs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the finances:   
•   Create any needed policies or procedures
•   Record all expenditures
•   Issue petty cash
•   Report finances to director on a weekly basis
•   Manage bank accounts
•   Manage payments from customers
•   Issue payments to staff
•   Ensure receipts are on file
•   Keep thorough documentation of all financial related actions
•   Oversee payment of SSNIT and PAYE
Manage shipping/importation through Tema harbour and the airport (approximately 25 shipments a year)
•   Keep records of all expected shipments
•   Manage shipping documents via email
•   Liaise with government procurement office on incoming shipments
•   Provide accurate information to foreign shipping agents
Assist the directors in various duties
Other duties as assigned
Qualification Required & Experience
•   Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, logistics, or related area required
•   Master’s degree preferred
•   At least two years of related experience, preferably with an NGO
•   Demonstrated experience with financial management required
•   Demonstrated experience with importation/customs/logistics required
•   Experience with importation at Tema harbour and/or KIA preferred
•   Experience with human resources preferred
•   Experience liaising with government offices/ministries
•   Proficient computer skills, including Word Processing, Excel, email
•   Excellent written and verbal English skills
•   Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•   Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently
•   Excellent attention to detail
•   Demonstrated commitment to helping disadvantaged populations
•   Professionalism and ability to work with confidential material ethically
Location: Kumasi
