Consultancy – Study on Perceptions of Fulanis and Fulani Communities in Northern Ghana



Introduction

Star Ghana Foundation is looking for a consultant to undertake a study on Perceptions of Fulanis and Fulani Communities in Northern Ghana.The consultant will provide inputs for the development of its programming on the integration of Fulbe in Ghana’s socio-political and economic life and particularly in northern Ghana through research on attitudes, perceptions, and norms in northern Ghana about Fulanis.

The research will analyse the socio-economic context of Fulanis in northern Ghana and the major constraints to their rights of access to economic resources, social services and participation in decision making and implementation at community and district levels. It will cover perceptions and experiences of the major ethnic groups in Ghana with regards to Fulanis.

The scope of research will include analysing respondents’ knowledge, experiences, beliefs and values, and attitudes toward Fulanis.

Qualification Required & Experience

Requirements

The preferred consultant will meet the following specifications:

• Hold at least a master’s degree in a relevant field with a strong background in research
• Have a good understanding of the subject matter of the research
• Demonstrable record of experience in similar assignments
• Strong ability to identify and engage key personalities and/or institutions as may be necessary for the successful execution of the assignment
• Excellent written and communication skills

Timelines/Duration of Engagement

The assignment will be completed over the January 2023. The consultant will be expected to use a total of 15 days within this period to complete the assignment
