Job Vacancy For Applications Engineer – Rubber Products



Key Tasks:

• To develop and execute strategies to achieve the company's targets
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the product footprint within the West Africa region
• Receipt and logging of enquiries with the product team
• Perform rubber lining training on site
• Coordinate communication with customers, suppliers, agents and internal staff professionally
• Coordinate of technical evaluation with product team
• Observe all defined processes and procedures for the application engineering skills set and proactively identify improvements
• Carry out root cause analysis investigations and report on site visits as required, commissioning and
• Troubleshooting
• Update customers and product teams on project status
• Proactively develop relevant SOPs and documentation for training, projects and services
• Adhere to ISO 9001:2000 and all HSE and housekeeping requirements at the branch and on sites
• Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times
• Assist with other African regions if required
• Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

• Technical qualification in rubber and ceramic technology
• Training in mineral processing
• Knowledge of the Linatex range of rubber products
• Knowledge of slurry transfer systems
• Certified Artisan/Boiler Maker qualification would be advantageous

Minimum Experience

• 5 years rubber lining supervisor experience
• 3 years project management experience pertaining to lining
• Site experience in the West Africa region is essential

OR

• 5 years rubber/ceramic and other lining methods in the mining/minerals processing environment
• Weir product knowledge will be advantageous

Minimum Skills / Abilities

• Excellent business communication at all levels - verbal and written
• Technical competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Ability to specify piping and hose products suitable for application
• Excellent training skills
• Ability to manage multiple site teams on projects
• Deadline oriented, attention to detail and sound understanding of cost implications
• Self-starter, ability to work independently with little supervision
