World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of:

Job Title: Driller
Reports To: Hydrogeologist

Job Summary:

To contribute to the attainment of the organization's water well drilling objectives, the Driller will be operating different types of drills on different types of surfaces, directing a work crew in maintaining drill equipment and tapping into sub-surface water to develop into wells.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Ensure proper and regular maintenance fo drilling Rig and tools
2. To conduct drilling operation at each site as provided by the Hydrogeologist.
3. To manage drilling site and staff to ensure safety and security of equipment.
4. To be proactive in updating and reporting all critical drilling needs and conditions that require immediate attention, and to request, receive and record all drill consumables
5. To drive drilling Rig daily to and from drilling site

Person Specification:

. HND Drilling Technology or NVTI II & I
. Technical training qualifications required: Professional technical skills desired (certificate?)
. Experience: Five (5) years working experience with different types of drilling equipment in different geological terrain.
. Experience with both heavy and light duty equipment in the water well drilling industry is preferred
. To possess good interpersonal relations especially at the community level
. Posses good time management skills to organize, plan and prioritize assignments
. Ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with others.
. Must possess a valid driver's license.
. Must be able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision on a variety of surface and groundwater related projects.
