Job Vacancy For Bookkeeper At Chemonics International



Chemonics International Inc. seeks Bookkeeper for the recently awarded five-year, USAID-funded Ghana Feed the Future Agriculture Policy Support (Ghana FtF-APS) Project.

The Ghana FtF-APS project aims to increase capacity of the government of Ghana, the private sector, and civil society organizations (CSOs) in evidence-based policy formation, implementation, research, and advocacy and in rigorous monitoring and evaluation of agricultural programs under the Medium Term Agriculture Sector Investment Plan.

The Bookkeeper will support the Finance Manager in ensuring the sound and efficient financial management of the Ghana FtF - APS project in compliance with USAID and Chemonics rules and regulations

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

•   Assist the finance manager in planning, managing, and implementing all aspects of the project
accounting system and for maintaining an accounting database
•   Collect and record all information that will facilit ate information exchange and dissemination
of project financial documentation and records to the home office
•   Receive invoices from vendors and manage and ensure timely payment
•   Prepare documentation for all payment transactions for vouchers, checks, and transfer forms
•   Maintain project's accounting file system, tax files, and payroll
•   Generate project invoices for staff
•   Manage petty cash, including petty cash reconciliation and disallowances
•   Other duties within the scope of the role and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Professional certificate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
•   2+ years of professional work experience with a Ghanaian or international organization, preferably working on a USAID or other donor - funded project or program
