Job Vacancy For Branch Head of Operations



With the desire of becoming a leader in the non-banking financial sector, a growing Non-Banking Finance Institution is looking for highly motivated, innovative and dynamic persons to fill the following position in Accra.

Department: Banking Operations
Reports Directly to: Branch Manager

Scope of Job: The branch head of operations will support the BM in conducting gap analysis and recommend the necessary structure, policies and procedures, staffing requirement, IT infrastructure and office set-up necessary for the branch

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Customer Service

•   Turnaround times must be met at all times
•   Immediate resolution of customers complaints and dissatisfactions
•   Achieve customer service excellence in operations

Operational Efficiency

•   To see a drop in the errors and cancellations in operational work
•   To ensure the branch operates within the approved vault limit
•   To ensure operations staffs are adequaterly trained
•   To ensure Sundry Transit accounts are nil off on daily basis
•   Ensure branch daily reports are submitted on time and all exceptions escalated within 24 hours
•   To ensure that all income due to the branch is appropriately recognised with a view to maximising the branch's profitability
•   Analysis of Expense with respect to determining variance with budget / reasons for variance
•   To ensure proof of all CL accounts are prepared and balanced twice monthly and all long outstanding items are promptly investigated and regularised
•   All charges due to the bank are promptly recognised
•   Focus on value adding activities and ensuring that laid down procedures under Account Opening are being followed in accordance with all governance standards
•   See to the effective management and operations of the back office

Regulatory Requirement / Compliance

•   To ensure the bank's policy on all operational issues are strictly adhered to

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, Micro Finance Management, Credit Management and or member of a Recognised Professional Body-Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB Ghana).
•   Minimum of six (6) years practical work experiene, preferably at management (or middle management) level with a finance institution
•   Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, finance and presentation applications, accounting and credit management software, etc.
•   Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the main or widely spoken local langauges
•   Must demonstrate a high sense of professionalism, diligence and integrity
•   Must be in good health and willing to travel on short notie
•   Excellent leadership and people management skills
•   Ability to plan, organise, direct and coordinate events from conception to delivery
•   Must be smart and able to work under intense pressure
•   Must be able to delegate effectively
