Job Vacancy For Chief Inspector of Schools At Public Services Commission



JOB PURPOSE
To provide strategic leadership, technical and administrative direction for the achievement of the mandate of the Board.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Exercises oversight responsibilities for the efficient and effective management of the resources (human, material and finance) of the Commission.
•   Initiates action for the formulation and implementation of policies, programmes and activities of the Board.
•   Leads the development, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the policies, plans, programmes, projects and activities of the Board.
•   Ensures the availability of appropriate internal structures, controls management and decision-making systems and processes in the Board.
•   Mobilises funding from development partners and other stakeholders for the Board.
•   Prepares and submits quarterly, annual and other periodic reports on the programmes, projects and activities to the Board.
•   Ensures the preparation and submission of the annual budget of the Board for approval.
•   Collaborates and builds relationships with Government, Public and Private sector partners and other stakeholders, both national and international, in carrying out the Board's mandate.
•   Signs and seals contractual agreements between individuals or groups of persons and the Board, on approval by the Board, where appropriate.
•   Serves as Secretary to the Board.
•   Oversees the development of standards, guidelines, formats, manuals, tools and instruments and ensure the inspection activities of the Board.
•   Liaises with MDAs, MMDAs and the Ghana Education Service (GES) in school quality improvement

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of a Master's Degree in relevant field preferably,Education from an accredited tertiary institution.
•   A minimums of fifteen (15) years post-bachelors degree relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a Senior Management position in a reputable institution.
•   A PhD will be an added advantage.

•   Extensive knowledge of monitoring and evaluation.

AGE: The successful candidate must be able to serve for at least five (5) years before attaining the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years
