Job Vacancy For Communications Coordinator, Anglophone West Africa At CCD-GHANA



The Afrobarometer Network is looking for an energetic professional to coordinate communications for the network. The Afrobarometer is a research project that measures the social, political and economic atmosphere in Africa through public opinion surveys. The Communications Coordinator will be based in CDD-Ghana.

General Duties:

•   Providing editorial support to the Center
•   Generating and developing articles for the website
•   Making representations on behalf of the Center
•   Helping to strengthen the Center’s social media presence
•   Providing communication support to specific projects

Specific Duties:

•   Work with Afrobarometer National Partners to Disseminate Afrobarometer findings to stakeholders
•   Promote Afrobarometer visibility and policy engagement
•   Develop and implement a communication strategy for the network
•   Train network partners to enhance regional visibility

Other Information:

•   This is a one year, fixed-term appointment with potential for renewal
•   Salary commensurate with skills and experience

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelors degree in Social Science preferably post-graduate degree in Journalism or Communication Studies, five to eight years of related work experience in networking with policymakers such as members of parliament and local government leaders
•   Strong interpersonal and communications skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-national environment are essential
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Strong presentation and analytical skills
•   The ability to communicate fluently in English is required; French proficiency is a strong advantage, but not required
•   Willingness to travel in the West Africa region, and occasionally beyond, on a regular basis
