World Vision International is a Christian Relief, Development and Advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Job Summary

The Candidate will work under the supervision of the Communications and Marketing Manager to support in informing donors, the government, communities and the general public of World Vision’s work in Ghana through the production of a range of written, audio-visual and photographic communications resources/ materials, and contribute to informing staff of internal developments and policy change/development in World Vision.

The Package

•   The position is based at the Accra with frequent internal and international travel.
•   The position comes with an attractive salary and benefit package.
•   S/He reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Include but not limited to the following;

•   Manage the news and social media outlets of World Vision Ghana to increase exposure and create familiarity of the organization.
•   Produce written, photography, impact stories, documentaries and issues-oriented reports highlighting the impact of World Visions work in lives of children and their families.
•   Contribute to advocacy-oriented communications products and campaigns including web-based and print materials, posters, briefing papers, reports, stories and photo essays.
•   Organizing events that raise the profile of World Vision Ghana e.g. commissioning of projects, launching of reports etc.
•   Develop and maintain key in-country media contacts.
•   Liaise with national and local press to support ADP programs media coverage.
•   Play a key role in the development of stories, photos and information to the production of periodic electronic newsletter that details organizational changes, activities, staffing and social news of World Vision Ghana.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or any other related field.
•   3 - 4 years relevant working experience in similar position.

Critical Competencies

•   Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines.
•   Three years of relevant working experience in International Communication, Media and Journalism.
•   Professional Certification in Communication.
•   Skills in word processing excel and desktop publishing is an advantage.
•   Ability to work harmoniously within teams
•   Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
•   Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
