Reporting to the Knowledge Management Expert, the Communication Specialist must have the required skills and experiences to successfully undertake the following tasks:

•   Collaborate with teams of focus technical areas to create targeted communication strategy for internal and external audiences and manage its implementation, raising internal awareness of communication issues with potential impact on successful collaboration with partners.
•   Oversee the development of communication plans for individual activities ensuring that the overall communications calendar is reflective of METSS II activity implementation.
•   Oversee and develop messaging on USAID/METSS website providing leadership for packaging reports, and other USAID/METSS publications, ensuring that messaging is consistent and aligned with USAID communications and provide counsel on communication gaps and messaging opportunities within METSS teams.
•   Collaborate with USAID/Ghana's Communication Specialist to produce videos and photographs that highlight USAID culture, events and successes
•   Collate materials from leaders for quarterly and annual USAID/METSS reporting.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Proven leadership skills with demonstrated initiative, creativity a no analytical capabilities to see the broad impact of programs and actions on the broader environment.
•   Ability to provide strategic counsel for a variety of communications scenarios, including issues management, and to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
•   Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey agriculture, nutrition and food security information to a variety of audiences.
•   Experience in agriculture and nutrition related sector, and strong understanding of food security issues is required.
•   Expertise in social media and graphic design
•   Demonstrated expertise in developing, managing and delivering insight-driven internal and external communications in a complex organization
•   Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrating ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and with multiple internal and external' stakeholders; Possessing negotiation skills and relationship management capabilities.
