JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications and CSR, the Communications Officer will co-ordinate all stakeholder/media activities for Tigo Ghana. You will ensure maximum visibility and continuous media hits for Tigo.

Key Responsibilities

•   Provide administrative support to the Communications Manager.
•   Develop and maintain Media Contact List for Tigo Ghana.
•   Own and manage a press line where stakeholders including the media can call for any information about Tigo’s products and services. Provide a weekly report on all activities on press line.
•   Provide press pack including releases at all Tigo Media events.
•   Develop and maintain calendar of key external events.
•   Initiate at least one Stakeholder Event quarterly to establish and develop relationships with key people/ organisations.
•   Ensure press coverage of all corporate events and initiatives as required.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   University degree in Communications, or social sciences
•   3+ years relevant post National Service working experience in Communications;

•   Substantial understanding of the media in Ghana including the various editorial policies and newsroom structure.
•   Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
•   Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
•   Effective time management, organization and leadership skills
•   Creative and critical thinking abilities with an eye for details
•   Computer literate and tech savvy.
•   Ability to work effectively with a wide range of cultures in a diverse community.
•   Willingness to travel to undertake events across the country.
•   Excellent interpersonal skills
