Overview
As a part of ongoing conservation efforts along the coasts of Ghana, the US Forest Service International Programmes (USFS) is working with the Government of Ghana and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to design and implement a coastal landscape conservation project in the six coastal districts of the Western Region of Ghana. This Coastal Sustainable Landscapes Project (CSLP) will contribute to moving Ghana into a low greenhouse gas emissions, high carbon sequestration development pathway in the land use sector.

Community Natural Resources Benefits Specialist
Develop, implement, and evaluate innovations, proven techniques, partnerships, and opportunities that generate diverse benefits for communities and individuals. Such activities and their subsequent benefits are meant to transform the landscape into a low emissions development model through integrated management systems and a knowledgeable and able population that practices climate change resilient development through better management practices. These developments should create greater incentives for landowners, businesses, communities, and traditional authorities to maintain, expand and improve vegetation cover and environmental services because they provide livelihood benefits, better quality of life, and a more promising future.

Work Conditions
Monday to Friday:     8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m (one hour break) These work hours are a guide The Administrative/Finance Specialist must be able to work under pressure, produce results, and meet deadlines.

•   Experience for an international organisation
•   Proven project management experience
•   Effective communication and inter-personal skills
•   Required computer proficiencies: Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Internet
•   Experience in monitoring and evaluation for development programs
•   Advanced degree in related fields
•   Extensive experience in report writing, auditing, and record-keeping
•   Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations
•   Excellent organisational skills
•   Familiarity with climate change, sustainable landscapes/livelihoods, land use planning, biodiversity conservation, international cooperation, and protected area management preferred
•   Speak, read, write Fanti, Twi
