Our client is a company involved in the exploration, development and production of petroleum resources in Ghana. Focused on continuous growth, our client is inviting highly skilled professionals to join its high performing team in the following capacity: Community Relations Manager

Job Summary

•   The Community Relations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating the implementation of projects related to community relations and social investment by oil and gas companies operating within and around operational areas.

The successful candidate will be required, among other to:

•   Manage the Community Relations department of the company
•   Maintain and grow community partnerships within and around the communities where oil and gas companies operate
•   Plan, develop and implement programmes to promote community awareness
•   Formulate policies to ensure good relation and effective communication with key community groups and provide clear direction for the company in dealing with communities
•   Manage the maintenance of good public image of the company through all relevant media channels, ensuring that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes of operating companies are adhered to
•   Design, implement and monitor community relations and social investment programmes which enable a sustainable and socially responsible operation in oil and gas operational areas
•   Ensure effective and efficient stakeholder engagement with local communities on matters relating to oil and gas operations
•   Pro-actively assess the impacts of oil and gas activities in the communities close to operational areas, including all areas where petroleum activities may impact people
•   Research, assess and implement sustainable social investment programmes in communities close to oil and gas operational areas
•   Develop Community Investment Strategy, and maintain relationships with stakeholders
•   Assist in the implementation of Community Investment plans, and strive to leave a positive impact on the longer-term outcomes for local people

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A good first degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Psychology or a related field is required
•   Master degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing is preferred
•   Minimum of 10 years experience in a progressively responsible position is required
•   Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
•   Excellent negotiation skills

•   Experience in crisis response co-ordination and management
•   Excellent communication and organization skills
•   Ability to meet schedules and project objectives
•   Confident communicator with senior management and external stakeholders
•   Strong report writing and presentation skills
•   Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships
•   Integrity, Attention to detail, time consciousness, Accountability, team work ability
