Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Technical Manager, he/she will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the Cranes and staff to achieve the best performance and reliability for the equipment.

Major Accountabilities

•   Among other duties, receive and execute instructions and decisions from the Technical Manager.
•   Plan, coordinate and execute the mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities for all the Cranes and their attachments.
•   Liaise with all Supervisors and Engineers to ensure efficient allocation and control of all Technical Crane Staff.
•   Coordinate with the Operations Department to determine their equipment needs; responding to and correcting equipment problems affecting efficient operations.
•   Together with the Technical Manager, structure tasks, goals and establish efficient courses of action to meet goals/KPIs.
•   Willing and capable of involvement in hands-on repair jobs and leading his team with a rolled-up sleeves.
•   Actively promote Safety culture and Safety awareness at all times and ensures a safe workplace policy.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university.
•   Must have a minimum of 5 years’ post-graduation functional experience in the Mechanical Maintenance and repair activities and evaluation of relevant equipment and machinery. Previous work experience with terminal cranes will be an added advantage.
•   Good knowledge in Hydraulics, Engines & Transmissions1 troubleshooting and repairs.
•   Must have very good working knowledge of techniques and methods employed in maintenance and repair of Cranes.
•   Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret Engineering Drawings and Designs.
•   Must have initiative, possess drive, be able to work under pressure and able to meet strict deadlines.
•   Must have good managerial and leadership skills to effectively manage labour and equipment.
•   Must be willing and capable of working long and odd hours.
