About Sales Person Role

We have been selling several quality brands of industrial products in Ghana for over 10 years but this is our first sales representative recruitment. This comes at this time in our bid to expand our reach and obtain more market share and customer base.
A career in sales can be equal parts exhilarating, rewarding, stressful, and lonely sometimes. Sales can be found in any industry. Most businesses rely heavily on revenue generated by sales. Given this, a successful salesperson can rise high within a company and, more easily than other industry, change company … or even switch to another industry.

About the Product & Job Description

• Although we have over 200 types of products and brands we deal in, we are involving our current sales representatives’ effort in the Hard Hat / Safety Helmet product line. As you work with us and prove your skills as a good salesperson, we will get involved in our other products if you wish.
• However, at the moment, we are hiring sales people to sell the Hard Hats / Safety Helmet in our warehouses. The product is a Type 1, Class G UK standard quality hard hat which comes in five major colors.
• It is predominantly used in workplace environments such as industrial or construction sites to protect the head from injury due to falling objects, impact with other objects, debris, rain, and electric shock.
• We want people who are already good at closing sales deals. You will not be working from an office. You will come to the office only on meeting and training days or whenever you wish.
• However, your work of meeting your monthly sales target will be done out in the city where the customers are. You will be in charge of making and closing deals for this product.

When Do You Sell

You can make any type as you which. You can focus on just one type, or you could make a combination of all these types of sales.

1. Selling To Individuals.

• Here, you are selling to the direct consumers or users of the helmet. These are professions such as Engineers, Miners, Architects, Labourers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Welders, Carpenters, FireFighters, Electricians, Production Workers, Sanitation Workers, Industrial Casters, Plumbers, Painters, etc. You can find them in their various places of work.

2. Selling To Retailers

• Here you will be selling to shop owners who will buy at wholesale prices and sell at retail prices to the direct users. These sales are counted in dozens (12 pieces).
You can find them in any main markets and mostly in area whole Hard Hats / Safety Helmet is required and used regularly such as the ports &harbour, industrial areas, construction areas, etc

3. Selling To Wholesales / Companies

• Here you will be selling to market shop owners who will buy at supply prices and sell at wholesale prices to retailers (shop owner) who will, in turn, sell to direct users. These sales are counted in supply bundles (60 pieces). You can find them in any main markets such as Accra main market, Ashiaman, Madina market, etc

How do you find customers?

• It varies and each person has to develop their own working strategy over time. Apart from the venues we mentioned in the next section; Quotable’s survey, other salespersons find customers on social media, at networking events, and through referrals.
• Even when they’re not actively selling, 33% are still researching. Aside from closing, 50% put relationship building as their favorite deal-related activity. And the best day to connect? For 46%, it’s Tuesdays.
Trade / Industry Publications, Search Engines, Cold Calling, Prospecting Tools, Referrals / Networking Events, Social Media are more way to find prospects and close deals.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Complete integrity
• You must be confident, a good listener to the customer and a go-getter
• Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, persistent, energetic
• Excellent communicator face to face, on the phone, and in writing. Good in Twi and English
• Strong sales skills, with the ability to meet sales goals and deadlines
• Territory management
• Product knowledge
• Hands-on “can-do” flexible approach
• Minimum of SHS/DIPLOMA/ HND/Degree in related field
• At least 1-3 years of experience in Sales and/or customer service
• Knowledge of and networks in Ghana’s industrial and manufacturing sectors would be an advantage
• should possess good negotiation, prospecting, presentation, and closing skills
• have and display enough self-confidence in selling ability
