Job Vacancy For Director of Administration



Job Purpose

• The Director of Administration on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the overall performance and operational management of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC)
• He/She will ensure that a robust performance framework is in plance and UGMC's effectiveness to deliver high quality and lean services is enhanced through good administration and efficient financial management
• The post holder will also be expected to manage the following roles: Director of Finance and Director of Facilities Management

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Exercise oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of general services of the hospital
• Ensure that statutory financial obligations affecting the hospital are observed
• Ensure a strong and effective framework of corporate governance within the hospital
• Provide advice on the financial health of the hospital in relation to policies and programmes
• Lead in the preparation and presentation of UGMC's budget
• Oversee the formulation and implementation of human resource and administrative policies, guidelines and procedures
• Coordinate the development of medium and long-term strategic plans for the hospital
• Oversee the preparation and implementation of performance management as well as staff development policies and programmes
• Undertake other duties commensurate with this role

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidates seeking this position must:

• Have a minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited tertiary institution
• At least 10 years post qualification relevant work experience, 5 years of which must be a senior
• Management position in a reputable institution extensive leadership, team building, monitoring and management skills
• Knowledge and experience in financial, procurement, budgeting and auditing regulations

• Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule to get job done, as required
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
• Must be a team player as well as self-motivated to be able to work independently and possess a customer focused mentality
• Must possess a strong work ethic, be trustworthy and maintain a high degree of integrity
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Access
