Job Vacancy For Director, Marketing Communications



We are looking for a seasoned and experienced Director, Marketing Communications, to join our Marketing Communications team in the Commercial Department. (S)He will Report to the Chief Commercial Officer and will plan & implement marketing communications strategy and drive brand engagement to achieve brand leadership in Ghana. As the custodian of the brand, (S)He will actively look at enhancing top of mind spontaneous awareness, consideration and intention to purchase through differentiation in positioning and media selection. The Director, Marketing Communications, will operate within cost-efficiency guidelines, and work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the preferred brand in the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and implement the brand strategy across the organization aligned with company strategy, commercial objectives and organizational values;
• Work with the creative agencies and other partners, also develop and implement communication campaigns that ensure superior visibility, differentiation and result in higher customer empathy/relevance with the brand;
• Be in tune with business needs and drive timely development, management and execution of thematic & tactical campaigns resulting in required share of market subscribers and traffic through awareness and consideration;
• Manage the media portfolio including not but limited to TV, radio, press, OOH, digital & social, activation and channel marketing; and ensure the right mix to optimize overall/campaign share of voice, awareness, consideration and intent to purchase;
• Recommend A&P spend optimization measures through initiatives such as reduction of fixed retainers, volume commitment deals, re-allocation of spend to higher visibility and/or alternative media, and GRP’s/CPRP’s, etc.;
• Lead trade marketing to ensure visibility at POS level and as well as activations that support sales activities in Accra and the regions;
• Formulate, drive and own the digital communication space;
• Effectively direct and review agencies performance & SLAs constantly seeking value addition through quality and cost;
• Expected to constantly review current processes and suggest periodic improvements;
• Provide direction and support to internal communications and corporate communications to ensure a consistent brand agenda across journalist space and employees;
• Lead a team of competent brand professionals – provide leadership, development and guidance;
• Be a core component of effective go-to-market execution and success of propositions to key segments.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A University Degree in any field with emphasis on Marketing, Communication and related discipline. Possession of an MBA or MSc in Marketing/Management is a plus;
• A minimum of Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of working experience in marketing and business communication field with a minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience and success in brand and media management;
• Ability to quantify all brand and communication initiatives into measurable KPIs’, TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness), Consideration, ITP, Share of Spend, Share of Voice, GRP’s, CPRP’s, etc.
