Job Vacancy For Executive Director At Ghana Wildlife Society



The Ghana Wildlife Society is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making conservation organization based in Accra Conservation Education Centre. The society's mission is to conserve wildlife in all its form for improved quality of life for people. The society is seeking a highly motivated professional for the position of: Executive Director

Major Functions

•   Provides vision and leadership for the development of the society in line with the strategic directions provided by the council and the management board.
•   Leads and takes responsibility for the development of the society's nature conservation programme and environmental awareness/education programme, directs, supervises and manages the society's communications, fund raising and marketing as well as financial and administrative operations.
•   Work closely with the Council and Chair of the Management Board and the Technical Advisor to ensure the development of the society into a credible, self sustaining conservation NGO

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A second degree in Natural Resource management, Biological Science, conservation and Development, Environment Law, Business Management or any relevant field
•   Technical proficiency in nature and environmental conservation, with a minimum of 10 years professional experience, at  least five years of which should be in a senior management position.
•   Good knowledge of conservation issues and priority setting for conservation and NGO work experience.
