Job Vacancy For Fireman At Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd (Esaase)



Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. ("KRGl") is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana's next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Attending to all fire related emergencies and responding quickly to unforeseen circumstances as they occur;
•   Minimizing distress and suffering, including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive;
•   Safeguarding properties during fire emergencies;
•   Operate the fire tender and related equipment;
•   Cleaning up and checking incidence scene to ensure good housekeeping is maintained;
•   Inspecting and maintaining fire equipment and appliances;
•   Ensure proper functioning of fire hydrants and maintaining availability of emergency water supplies;
•   Undertake fire drills and training on the use of fire equipment, fire techniques, and related fire issues;
•   Maintaining the level of physical fitness of fire personnel necessary to carry out all the duties of a firefighter.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   GCE O’ Level or SHS WASSC qualification or NVTI qualification in appropriate field
•   Five years fire fighting, training, management and related experience in a similar position
•   Knowledge in fire fighting techniques, equipment, chemical hazards;
•   Knowledge in emergency medical procedures and fire prevention;
•   Working with the GNFS or its affiliate for a period (2-3years) will be an added advantage;
•   Must have the ability to operate a fire tender and be conversant with its component;
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.
