Job Vacancy For Account Payable Officer



Job Summary

• The successful candidate will join our team as an Accounts Payable Officer in the Finance Department. This individual will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be responsible for managing vendor relationships. The Accounts Payable Officer will have full ownership of all vendor invoices, ensuring they are paid promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a three (3)- way match for Purchase Orders, Invoices, and Invoice approvals as per controls
• Validate Inventory/expenses accrual invoices and coordinate item code creation in the financial system as and where necessary.
• Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or approval signatures.
• Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments.
• Assemble invoices to be completed for payment.
• Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval.
• Process all commission and statutory invoices for payment.
• Ensuring all internal controls within job processes effectively work all year round.
• Engage vendors on dispute resolutions and escalate to the Accounts payable manager where necessary.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure that vendors receive their WHT certificates for deductions made against their payments.
• Keep track of all vendor invoices from the time it is received to the point of payment.
• Month-End OPEX Accounting for HR and Admin.
• Keep track of the vendor Advance schedule and keep it up to date.
• Carry out any other task that may be assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager.

Required Qualification and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree from any recognized University with an emphasis in accounting or any business-related field.
• ACCA/CA – Final level qualification
• At least 3 years’ relevant work experience (preferably in a multinational setting)
