Job Vacancy For Accountant



We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a reputable herbal medicine manufacturing company. You must be knowledgeable about finance and accounting standards and practices, as well as familiar with relevant laws, rules and regulations in the herbal medicine industry.

You will be working with other team members in the Finance and Accounts Department to ensure the accuracy of the company’s financial records; however, the ideal candidate needs to have strong communication skills, a high level of integrity and a strong sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of all aspect of financial management accounts and controls
• Prepare annual budget, cash requests and quarterly forecasts
• Prepare end of year accounts and oversee external audits
• Carry out bench-marking exercises and supplier reviews to obtain value for money on purchases
• Ensure accounting records and books of accounts are kept up to date
• Ensure all payments to supplies and/or projects are in accordance with development regulations and approved plans/budgets
• Manage monthly payroll and ensure necessary deductions and reimbursements are processed against staff accounts
• Annually review accounting timelines and processes to ensure accounts are produced across departments in most effective manner
• Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses as needed Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures and regulations for any necessary entities (GRA, Registrar General, etc.)
• Control expenditure and have oversight over the disbursement of petty cash
• Ensure that all necessary supporting documents, records and accounts have been kept in respect of all the organisations activities.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or any related field 3-5 years of work experience preferably in a pharmaceutical industry
• Professional qualification in Accounting from a recognised professional accounting body- ACCA, ICA etc. will be an added advantage
• High standards of personal integrity and adherence to professional and ethical standards
• Strong problem-solving, creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
