Job Vacancy For Accountant, Fixed Assets (Tracking)



Job Summary:

• Responsible for supervising fixed assets movements from procurement to retirement across the country in accordance with MTN Fixed Asset Management policies, processes, and procedures..

Job Role

• Ensure that all technical inventory moving from warehouse to sites are tagged.
• Physically verify technical inventory on sites in agreement with a signed off move order.
• Inspect and verify unused materials on site assets count, description, and condition and facilitate and supervise the return of materials to Warehouse.
• Perform physical count of asset additions on a quarterly basis with the support of the user Division or the Project Manager, tag untagged additions on sites and pick up data of tagged assets on site and compare with the assigned tag numbers in the Fixed Asset Register.
• Perform reconciliation of data gathered from quarterly verification exercise to the data in the Fixed Asset Register and recommend adjustment in the Fixed Asset Register where necessary.
• Confirm the physical existence of assets transfer from one location to another at the present location Fixed Asset Accountant shall visit the new location of the transferred asset and effect the change of location of the asset in the Fixed Asset Register to reflect the
current location of the asset.
• Visit the location of decommissioned assets to take stock of assets and verify the condition of the asset as per the completed asset return form to facilitate the movement of these assets to Warehouse with the support of the Fleet.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education

• A Degree in Accounting/ Finance.
• Part qualification in ICAG/ACCA/CIMA is an advantage.

Experience

• 3 years of relevant experience in same or similar role

Knowledge/ Professional competencies:

• Fixed Assets Accounting
• Strong understanding of Telecom Assets Management
• Good Reporting & presentation skills
• Analytical skills
