Description Of Job

Job Title: Accountant and Stock Controller
Location: Accra
Reports to: Senior Finance Officer

Relief International’s (RI) Social Enterprise Program takes a dynamic, multi-faceted approach to enhancing livelihoods and supporting entrepreneurs.  The Ghana Social Enterprise Program works to facilitate the growth of local retailers and its partners through the production, promotion and sale of low cost, high impact technologies.  Currently the program supports the sale of household water filters and the production and sale of the Gyapa fuel efficient stove.

However the program is looking to expand and deepen our reach with additional exciting business ventures.  The Accountant and Stock Controller will be responsible for preparing checks, purchase requests, managing petty cash for the program as well as overseeing purchase, sale, and delivery of multiple product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountant

•  Support in the preparation to send out receipts, bills, invoices, and statements as required, and any other financial documentation for supporting grant or other income.
•  Prepares purchase order, payment vouchers and co-ordinate bidding selection process and issuing certificates, as required by RI accounting procedures in dealing with program expenditure and Sr. Finance Officer.
•  Ensure all backup documentation for procurements is properly organized and filed for complete transparency and audit purposes.
•  Perform general administrative duties such as monitoring time sheets, vehicle usage, petty cash, retirement of working advances, etc

Stock Controller

•  Oversee and manage records of all stock receipts
•  Keep accurate database tracing stock to final sale
•  Manage multiple inventory locations
•  Oversee entry of product sale database
•  Any other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Finance Officer

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Accounting or finance-related degree and 3-5 years related experience and/or training.
•  Expertise in using QuickBooks Accounting Software
•  Substantial demonstrable understanding and experience of accounting practices within an international NGO.
•  Substantial demonstrable understanding and experience of accounting with a for-profit business.
•  Previous experience with inventory management
•  Capable of multitasking across several different initiatives
•  Experience in micro-finance a plus
