For this project, Safi Sana and IFDC are looking for an Agronomist / Soil expert that is responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy for bio-fertilizer and seedling products. This must ensure a successful launch of the Safi Sana bio-fertilizer and seedling products in Ghana. The expert will be working closely with the West African Fertilizer Programme team at IFDC.

Description of activities for agronomist / soil expert with commercial interest and experience:

•   Definition of the bio-fertilizer product and a product package with a direct link to the product development team
•   Development of a sales strategy in a product portfolio for both the short and long term
•   Coordination of product branding: name, packaging and certification of product and registration of production company
•   Development of strategic partnerships in cooperation with the commercial representative Safi Sana Holding BV
•   link up with the West Africa Fertilizer Programme (WAFP) IFDC team to develop an effective distribution chain of the product.
•   Follow up and develop plans/contracts with potentials clients for demonstrations and sales
•   Development of a practical training programme for farmers at knowledge centers (demonstration) and on-farm
•   Develop a business plan/work plan for the nursery concept in cooperation with the nursery technical product team
•   Any other assignment that the supervisor deems necessary for the success of the project or contribution of the work of IFDC as a global institution

Qualification Required & Experience

•   MSc level agronomist / soil expert with at least 5 years of working experience in a commercial environment
•   Technical know-how on product development
•   Young and creative/out of the box mind and interested to work in young team
•   Results-oriented and innovative attitude

Place of work and position
The Agronomist / Soil expert will be based in Accra, Ghana and should be available to travel within and outside the country when called upon to.
