Job Vacancy For Assistant Manager, Research
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Research and Analytics
• Conduct policy, economic and sectoral research to info strategic planning, performance reviews and board-level reporting
• Benchmark the organization's planning and performance frameworks against peer institution, global development standards and national transformation benchmarks
• Analyse project and capital mobilization data to identify trends, risks and opportunities across the organization's portfolio
• Provide evidence-based insights for leadership decision-making, including funding alignment, investment readiness and resource prioritization
• Develop and refine performance indicators and results metrics in collaboration with the knowledge & Performance Hub (MELL)
• Generate analytical briefs to support high-level engagements, board presentations and the CEO's reports to the Presidency
Secretariat and Coordination Support
• Serve as the operational lead for the Strategy Secretariat, managing templates, trackers and inputs that sustain he organisation's delivery rhythm.
• Coordinate the collection, validation and synthesis of Directorate inputs for the performance and delivery cashboard
• Maintain data integrity and version control across secretariat-managed tools and databases
• Prepare analytical briefs, dashboards and summaries for internal management, board and presidential reporting
• Document decision, actions and lessons from across-directorate meetings, ensuring accurate follow-up and accountability tracking
• Support the Director and Senior Manager, Programme Planning in synthesizing inputs for Board papers and quarterly reviews
Planning and Work Programme Support
• Support the Senior Manager, Programme Planning in the preparation and annual update f the organization's institutional workplans and delivery frameworks
• Integrate data from Business Development (BD) and other Directorates into consolidated performance tools
• Analyse delivery progress, budget alignment and variance between planned and actual outputs
• Provide analytical insights to identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions
• Contribute to cross-directorate planning sessions, workplan validation and performance review meetings
Knowledge Management and Systems
• Maintain a central, digitized repository of data, reports and evidence supporting strategic planning and institutional reporting
• Lead the improvement and automation of dashboards, trackers and data tools to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
• Work with IT and the knowledge & Performance Hub (MEL) to strengthen data interoperability and visualization systems (e.g. Power BI, xcel dashboards).
• Establish clear file taxonomy and metadata standards for the secretariats data systems
• Capture lessons learned, performance improvements and success stories for inclusion in Board and donor reporting
Reporting and Learning
• Prepare validated data summaries and analytics for quarterly and annual performance reports to the CEO, board and the Ghana Government
• Collaborate with the knowledge & Performance Hub (MEL) to produce learning Notes, benchmarking summaries and impact briefs
• Participate in institutional learning exchanges and contribute analytical evidence to national reporing and international cooperation platforms
• Ensure analytical outputs are shared systematically with BD and other Directorates to promote integrated planning and adaptive management
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Statistics, Data Science or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in applied research, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation or strategic planning
• Proven analytical skills and experience managing performance data systems and dashboards
• Strong writing and synthesis abilities with exceptional attention to accuracy and insight generation
• Familiarity with government, donor and institutional reporting frameworks
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (excel, Power BI or equivalent
• Experience in integrating financial and programme data for decision-making preferred
