Job Vacancy For Business Development Manager



Duties

Main Tasks to be performed are:

• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
• Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging on business networks
• Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organisation
• Research and build relationships with new clients
• Set up meetings between client decision makers and the management of the centre
• Work with team to develop proposals, TOR and MOU's that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives
• Quoting and negotiating prices and crdit terms and completing contracts and recording orders

Client Retention

• Present new products and services to clients and enhance existing relationships
• Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet client needs
• Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
• Assess customers needs and explain the goods and services which meet their needs

Business Development Planning

• Develop business growth strategy focusing both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
• Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
• Update and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and distribution channels
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
• Participate in industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
• Update staff on competitor's goods and services and market conditions
• Identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators based on the knowledge of the market and competitors
• Arrange for the delivery of goods, installation of equipment and the provision of services to clients

Management and Research

• Undertake research on competitors goods and services and market conditions
• Submit weekly progress reports on sales, clients, market trends, etc
• Develop and maintain appropriate KPI's to enhance service delivery
• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the business development team
• Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisite (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) and fulfilled within a timely manner
• Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff

Qualification Required & Experience

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

• At least a First Degree in Business Administraiotn, public administration, sociology, Human Resource, ICT, Project Management etc
• At least 5 years work experience in business development, trade promotions, or other relevant areas

Key Skills required include:

• Strong communication and IT proficiency
• Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
• In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
• The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Excellent time management and organisation
