Job Vacancy For Business Development Manager



A three (3) Star hotel located in the Eastern Region requires the services of a Business Development Manager.

Job Description

• Responsible for the management of the business development department
• Develop the company's sales and marketing strategy and lead product development
• Manage social media channels and ensure strong visibility of the company, its products and services as well as activities through active engagement on the social media page
• Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
• Actively pursue marketing intelligence, potential business opportunities and identify opportunities for revenue generation for the company
• Create a sales pipeline by generating leads and seeking out the appropriate contacts in/to organisation, mass market and high net worth individuals
• Lead the client in client engagement function via presentations, meetings and online/social media engagement - develop excellent relations with clients, understand clients needs and lead the resolution of client complaints in an effective satisfactory manner
• Develop a growth strategy focused on both revenue maximization and customer safisfaction
• Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
• Arrange business development meetings with prospective clients
• Promote the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients objectives
• Prepare function contracts for all services delivered within department
• Build long term relationships with new and existing customers
• Conduct performance appraisal exercise and set performance target for the teams
• Attend conferences, meetings and industry events
• Any other duties to be assigned by the General Manager from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must have at least Diploma in Hotel Catering & institutional Management or its equivalent from a recognised university or any accredited institution in Ghana
• Having culinary training will be an advantage
• Must have at least a first degree in Business Development or Business Administration plus CIM or MBA in marketing or related field from a recognised academic institution
• Must have at least a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in a hotel environment
• Proven sales track record will be an advantage
• Must be efficient user of Microsoft suite - Power point presentation, excel, word, etc
• Ability to analyze sales figures and write reports
• Ability to drive new businesses and meet or exceed targets
• Must have negotiation, project management, presentation and organizational skills
• Knowledgeable in Accounting software - IDS, Tally, Accpac, etc
• Professional disposition with good communication, interpersonal, team player and excellent reporting writing skills
• Must have a high degree of honesty, integrity and ability to maintain high level of compliance
• Must be able to work long hours as and when duty demands
