1.0 Main Purpose of the Appointment:

The employee shall play supervisory role and work to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth through identification of new business opportunities and putting those opportunities into an optimum use.

The incumbent’s duties shall include but not limited to the following:

2.0 General Responsibilities:

2.1. New Business Development

•   The employee shall be responsible for identifying prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
•   The employee shall be responsible for cold calling as appropriate within market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. The employee     shall meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging network.
•   The employee shall be responsible for identifying potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
•   The employee shall be responsible for conducting market research in the real estate industry and building relationships with new clients.
•   The employee shall be responsible for setting up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/principals.
•   The employee shall be responsible for working with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
•   The employee shall be responsible for participating in pricing the solution/service.
•   The employee shall be responsible for handling objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. The employee must use variation of styles use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
•   The employee shall be responsible for presenting an image that mirrors that of the client.

2.2. Client Retention

•   The employee shall be responsible for presenting new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
•   The employee shall be responsible for working with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
•   The employee shall be responsible for arranging and participating in internal and external client debriefs.

2.3. Business Development Planning

•   The employee shall be responsible for attending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
•   The employee shall be responsible for present to and consulting with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services.
•   The employee shall be responsible for identifying opportunities for campaigns and services that will lead to an increase in sales.
•   The employee shall be responsible for using knowledge of the market and competitors identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

2.4. Management and Research

•   The employee shall be responsible for submitting weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
•   The employee shall be responsible for ensuring that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s Customer Relations Management (CRM) or other sales management system.
•   The employee shall be responsible for forecasting sales targets and ensuring they are met by the team.
•   The employee shall be responsible for tracking and recording activity on accounts and helping to close deals to meet these targets.
•   The employee shall be responsible for working with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
•   The employee shall be responsible for ensuring that all team members represent the company in the best light.
•   The employee shall be responsible for presenting business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
•   The employee shall be responsible for ensuring searching and developing a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
•   The employee shall be responsible for understanding the company’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance

Qualification Required & Experience

Formal Education:

•   Business development management positions require a bachelor’s degree, an MBA is most preferred and must also have knowledge in Microsoft Office and power point.
•   Experience: Minimum 6 years of Business Development/ Sales experience, preferably with relevant experience in the landscaping industry.
