Abosso Gold Fields Ltd - Damang Gold Mine, a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited is a world-class operation, consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL Metallurgical Plant. The mine is located in tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana.

Description Of Job

Purpose of the Job:-
Gold Fields Ghana is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person as Manager Business Improvement, at the Tarkwa Mine. The successful applicant will be required to provide leadership in the sustainable business improvement and cost saving of the mine through the development and implementation of effective and efficient business improvement projects, methodologies and associated techniques, in line with the company's short term and strategic business and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities: -
Reporting to the General Manager - Tarkwa Gold Mine, key responsibilities will include:

•  Developing and implementing required strategies for establishing and improving the Business Improvement Capability in Tarkwa
•  Implementing an appropriate Business Improvement framework (policies, procedures and processes) for the mine through well designed and well executed Business Improvement activities
•  Reviewing the Business Improvement activities in line with the short, medium and long-term objectives, and ensuring that these are aligned with the business objectives of the relevant business units on Tarkwa Mine
•  Ensuring alignment of business improvement priorities by the development, growth and maintenance of strong working relationships with operational and Finance HODs
•  Leading business improvement projects, analyzing business performance, presenting alternatives, making recommendations and providing assistance to resolve business issues and promote quality management
•  Accountable for ensuring strong organizational wiring including the implementation and cascading of results action reviews
•  Ensuring relevant data from the mine is correctly interpreted, coordinated and presented as a basis for informed and confident short, medium and long-term strategic business decisions
•  Providing leadership and coaching of business improvement teams to ensure quality business improvement processes are applied
•  Responsible for the Change Management Initiatives related to business improvement on the mine
•  Coaching relevant Senior Managers in change management and business improvement, assisting them to set and achieve departmental goals and objectives
•  Ensuring that a succession planning process is in place, and monitoring the career and resource planning, training and development of staff

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements:

•  Hold a relevant formal 4 year deqree, with previous experience within a similar role in the mining industry
•  Show demonstrable understanding of business improvement, project management and change management in a multinational environment
•  Be able to work with various disciplines/functions on the Mine
•  Be an assertive goal-orientated self-starter with good interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail
•  Open pit mining experience and/or departmental management experience is desirable
•  Possess sound analytical and decision making skills
•  Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
•  Have sound business development, analytical, people- and change management skills
•  Have excellent computing skills in relevant technical software packages.
