Job Description:

• The person serves as the point of contact for financial transactions with customers, primarily in retail or food service environments. The role is heavily focused on accuracy, efficiency, and positive customer interaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transaction Processing: Operate cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems to receive payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or other methods, and provide accurate change.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions, provide information about products or services, and resolve basic complaints.
• Merchandising and Cleanliness: Bag or wrap purchases, maintain a clean and organized checkout area, and assist with stocking shelves or displays.
• Additional Tasks: May include suggestive selling, accepting reservations or take-out orders, and basic food preparation in some settings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Generally, no formal educational degree is required, though a high school diploma is often preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience is often not required, as comprehensive on-the-job training is typically provided.
• Core Competencies: Strong customer service skills, basic math proficiency, effective communication, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
