Key Responsibilities

•Provide guidance to the Board in developing and maintaining a strategic planning framework for the hospital that responds to community needs and addresses changes and trends in the delivery of health services
•Develop and implement accountable and effective management structures which balance strategic vision with a need for the day-to-day operational management of the Hospital to ensure delivery of high-quality healthcare services
•Lead the planning, evaluation and development of hospital services, to include analyzing existing services, service demands and healthcare trends to develop short and longer-term objectives and plans for the hospital
•Provide a culture of leadership which ensures that staff are motivated to achieve the highest standards of individual and healthcare trends to develop short and longer-term objectives and plans for the hospital
•Provide a culture of leadership which ensures that staff are motivated to achieve the highest standards of individual and collective performance and to foster, maintain and support the working relationships between staff at all levels in the Hospital
•Lead and monitor the development and implementation of appropriate performance measurement systems for the hospital to monitor and manage the Hospital's performance on an ongoing basis
•Maintain and develop the hospitals culture and ethos of excellence as a provider of patient-centered care committed to the highest standard of clinical practice and patient care
•Ensure that a comprehensive capital development programme for the Hospital is progressed through a regular review process focused on meetings the priority infrastructural needs of the Hospital
•Maintain the hospital's income and expenditure in line with the approved annual budget and ensure that financial / resource allocations and output plans are consistent with the corporate goals and objectives of the board
•Promote a culture of performance, compliance with regulations, statutory requirements, good corporate governance principles and best healthcare practices
•Organise and facilitate capacity-building sessions through mentoring, coaching, in-service training and continuing professional development to ensure staff carry out their functions in a competent manner.
•Operate the Hospital in an efficient and economical manner, in accordance with Board approved policies, directive, goals and objectives and in accordance with health systems requirements and directions
•Monitor to ensure hospital management team activities, proactively identify and address patients and staff concerns and needs and that departments are managed proactively with the view to improving efficiency and maintaining professional etiquette

Qualification required & Experience

•A minimum of a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care, Management, Finance or health-related fields from a recognized institution
•A minimum period of 15 years relevant work experience with at least 10 years in a senior management position in either the private or public sector, preferably in a healthcare or large organizational setting.
•Strong understanding of healthcare system and hospital operations
•Significant leadership experience with an open management style that embraces partnerships, including inter-professional corporate working
•Track record of achievement in a performance-driven organization
•Result oriented, focusing on the totality of the patients experience
•Resilient and able to perform effectively in a pressured environment, combining fairness with ability to make tough decisions
•Excellent financial and analytical ability
•Problem-solving and strategic thinking
•Communication and negotiation skills

•Well-developed influencing and team-building skills
•Emotional intelligence
