Job Vacancy For Chief Operating Officer

Our client is a Life Insurance Company in Ghana with vacancy for the following position:- Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary

•   The COO will assist the Chief Executive Officer in the development of policies and goals that cover operational, financial performance and growth of the company
•   He/she will ensure that the company's operations are in compliance with all regulations of the National Insurance Commission and others that have legal implications on the operations of the company
•   He/She will be responsible for developing implementing, and managing key aspects of the annual budget with the Chief Finance Officer and the Chief Executive Officer
•   He/She should have knowledge of insurance operations finance and actuarial concepts, regulatory environment reinsurance, management accounts, underwriting and product development.

Job Description

•   Oversee the company's business operations and technology, leading the development of company's operations platform that supports the business and customer experience
•   Drive the development of challenging business plans reflective of the competitive environment, aggressively monitor marketing and technical results, adjusting strategies and tactics to maximize profit whiles balancing growth
•   Ensure that the company develops and maintains successful relationships with agents
•   Evaluate underwriting performance based on financial analysis, including rates, reserve adequcy, operational, planning and product reviews
•   Analyse statistical data on products including risers and construct probability tables to forecast risk and ability for payment of future benefits
•   Determine premium rates required for cash reserves necessary to ensure payment of future benefits and determine profitable and unprofitable products and report same together with recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer
•   Prepare quarterly and annual valuation
•   Ensure implementation of an effective marketing plan for the company
•   Carry through all plans and strategies of the company to ensure growth, profitability and sustenance of the corporate image of the company
•   Ensure implementation of an effective customer service and complaint handing.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A good bachelor degree or equivalent from the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACM)
•   A Masters Degree in business administration is an advantage
•   A minimum of ten(10) years post qualification (ACII) work experience in an Operations Management Capacity or a similar position
