The company has emerged as a major real estate player in the luxury property development industry in Ghana, and seeks the right candidates to join its growing team:- Chief Project Officer (CPO)

Job Summary

•   The chief Project Officer will serve as a senior member of the management team and will oversee all projects undertaken by the company. He or she will be in charge of planning, monitoring and delivering of all projects in a timely manner.

Role Responsibilities:

•   Lead the process of acquiring land, obtaining permits and fulfilling all legal requirements (where necessary)
•   Plan resources needed to deliver on construction projects including labor, materials, capital etc.
•   Lead the preparation of project plans that cover steps required to execute the project and associated timelines
•   Provide strategic oversight and direction to project team as well as on-site construction workers
•   Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain best price and execution
•   Lead project team to correctly evaluate all subcontractor activities involving work methodology, quality, safety plans, project schedule and compliance with contractual requirements
•   Review budget for projects and prepare detailed plan to allocate funds by stage, labor, material and contingencies.
•   Represent project team at coordination meetings with clients and liaise with various entities, third parties and stakeholders
•   Oversee, develop and streamline operations and procedures related to construction projects.
•   Lead project team to achieve project goals and review progress periodically
•   Present progress reports on projects to the Board when required
•   Ensure a high level of health & safety is adhered to on construction sites in line with laid down policies & procedures.
•   Plan and implement training programs for construction workers in areas such as health & safety and construction best practices to ensure overall high work quality and health and safety.

Qualification Required & Experience

Background, Skills & Attributes

•   University Degree, preferably advanced degree in civil engineering, architecture or related backgrounds
•   At least 7 years related business experience, 4 of which should have been in management role
•   Professional qualification in quantity surveying, construction or project management is an advantage
•   Demonstrate experience in delivering successful projects in the real estate or construction sector to time and budget
•   Excellent people and team skills
•   Strong mentoring & coaching experience to a team with diverse skills
•   Ability to guide, direct, motivate and inspire others to action.
•   Ready to travel when needed.
