Summary

• This pivotal role is dedicated to overseeing the complete financial lifecycle for Telecel Ghana's customer base, specifically excluding postpaid and wholesale segments. The incumbent will direct the end-to-end process from order placement through billing and payment collection, ensuring the precise and timely recognition of revenue and its associated deferrals.
• A core mandate involves leading the accurate accounting of cash receipts and accounts receivable, working in close partnership with credit and collections teams to maximize balance recoverability. Additionally, the position entails managing bad debt provisions, optimizing commission structures for sales agents, and ensuring all financial activities align with broader organizational strategies while maintaining strict cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the verification and authorization of sales orders for airtime and devices across dealers, franchisees, corporate accounts, and one-time clients.
• Validate and maintain current bank guarantees for all distributors and dealers, ensuring outstanding debts remain within approved limits.
• Direct the daily billing and invoicing operations for customers operating outside the central billing system.
• Handle reconciliations, invoicing, and netting processes with interconnect partners.
• Guarantee the accuracy of daily payment postings into Oracle from diverse sources, including RMS, Telecel Cash, and third-party channels like Express Pay and E-tranzact.
• Partner with the credit and collections department to resolve customer payment disputes and ensure timely settlements.
• Monitor daily and weekly airtime sales reconciliations to confirm the completeness of customer invoicing.
• Track monthly movements of deferred revenue between Oracle and subsystems to ensure data integrity.
• Evaluate the sufficiency of bad debt provisions based on monthly receivable assessments.
• Review monthly accruals for commissions to ensure financial accuracy.
• Execute comprehensive financial management, including accounting, budget analysis, and strategic reporting.
• Lead and manage the annual financial statement audits for the Telecel Foundation.

Qualification Required & Experience

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Active professional membership with recognized bodies such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or ICAG.
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting or a comparable finance function.
• Strong command of ERP accounting systems, with a specific preference for SAP, alongside extensive experience in reconciliation and reporting.
• A solid understanding of financial transactions and accounting principles; familiarity with the telecommunications and financial services sectors is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities, deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, and apply strong analytical thinking.
• Proven capacity to work seamlessly with internal departments (Finance Operations, Revenue Assurance, Credit & Collections, Consumer & Enterprise Units) to establish robust financial controls and ensure accurate transaction recording.
