A network of Ghanaian NGOs that seeks to promote- rights-based approaches to sexual reproductive health in Ghana, particularly through advocacy and inclusive policy-making. The Alliance works to strengthen links between actors in the health sector to deliver appropriate, reliable, accessible and affordable sexual and reproductive health services and Information to poor women of reproductive health age, young people and other disadvantaged groups in poor and under-served communities.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual with experience in Communications, Public Relations and Advocacy to join Secretariat as soon as possible.

The full-time Communications Manager will work with a team at ARHR to implement the digial media element of maternal and newborn healthcare campaign, Mamaye.

•  They will be responsible for producing and managing the content of the website and social media platforms, communicating and stakeholders, communities and institutions to shift the emphasis of maternal and newborn care for mortality to survival

The person will work with the Mamaye team to strategically translate the evidence, research and advocacy components into an inspiring, engaging and educational digital media campaign.

•  In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for producing promotional content for the organisation such as media releases and corporate documents including the annual report, policy briefs and programme fact sheets.

•  Location: East Legon, Accra
•  Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualification Required & Experience

The successful applicant should have:

•  Experience in the development and roll out of strategic communications directives to achieve the organisation's advocacy goals
•  Print and online advocacy expertise, including strong written skills across a range of platforms, such as corporate documents, media releases, web content and promotional material
•  Core Journalism/Public Relations skills such as working to a deadline, identifying media opportunities, editing documents and stakeholder management

Desirable, but not essential experience include:

•  Experience in the advocacy sector, particularly reproduce and maternal health
•  A degree or higher in Journalism, Public Relations or other related fields
•  Experience in Public Health or Development Studies or related field
