Job Vacancy For Community Engagement and Advocacy Specialist At Chemonics International



Chemonics International Inc, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking long-term employees and short-term consultants for an anticipated early grade literacy and numeracy program in Ghana. The project will focus on improving reading and numeracy instruction, teacher training, education management, and materials development in English and mother tongue languages.

We are recruiting a senior-level community engagement and outreach specialist for an anticipated four-year program in Ghana. The community engagement and outreach specialist will work with local community leaders and members to improve accountability and transparency between parents, schools, and local government officials.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications for the position:

•  Master’s degree in education or relevant specialty area preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience in education-related field;
•  Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience developing and managing community outreach activities over a wide geographic area;
•  Demonstrated knowledge of Ghana’s education system;
•  Experience on USAID or other donor-funded programs preferred and experience working with non-governmental organizations and national and local governments required;
•  Demonstrated experience in contributing to gender mainstreaming, girl-friendly school infrastructure, inclusive education, responsive teacher deployment in underserved areas, teacher supervision, and the supply of teaching and learning materials to underserved schools;
•  Fluency in English required, knowledge of written and spoken Ghanaian languages preferred.
