Job Vacancy For Dean, Law School At Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)



The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a world Class Centre of Excellence for training in Leadership, Management and Administration, located Greenhill, Achimota, seek a Dean for its Law School.

The Dean serves as the Chief academic and administrative officer of the Law School.

•   The successful candidate will help shape the future of the Law School in ways consistent with GIMPA’s vision and strategic plan.
•   It is expected that the newly appointed Dean will have a distinguished record of academic achievement and managerial competence.

Reporting Relationship: The successful candidate shall report to the Rector through the Deputy Rector.

Qualification Required & Experience

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications, traits, and competences:

•   A strong commitment to academic excellence
•   Knowledge and expertise of international accreditation systems
•   Ability to develop external relations
•   A proven track record of innovative and effective leadership in higher education
•   Preferably a Ph.D from a reputable university
•   Should be appointee at the rank of Associate Professor or higher
•   A distinguished research and publication record
•   Demonstrated experience in the running and management of educational programmes
•   Strong and effective verbal and oral communication, including presentation skills
•   Strong and effective leadership and managerial skills
•   Must be a team player, but must also be able to take difficult and bold decisions and initiatives leading to new innovations and the development of new educational programmes
•   Must be able to serve a full term of office of four (4) years before retirement. Retirement age is currently sixty (60) years.
