Job Vacancy For Deputy Director-General, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation At National Media Commission

The National Media Commission invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians who are goal-oriented, result-driven with exceptional leadership qualities for appointment to the above-mentioned position.??Job Purpose:?To support the Director-General to provide executive leadership and leading edge strategic direction to enable the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to deliver innovative services to the public.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Assists the Director -General to implement the Corporation's policies, bye-laws, other instruments and objectivies in the day-to-day operations of the Corporation
•    Be responsible for the News and Current Affairs Division
•    Leads in general administrative policy and planning
•    Liaises with Head of Divisions (Engineering, Sound and Television, Programmes, etc) to develop a strategic direction for Ghana Broadcasting Corporation
•    Works in partnership with appropriate organisations on administrative matters
•    Chairs Selection Boards for contract appointments above a specific level stated by the Board
•    Promotes effective labour relations
•    Initiates action an acting appointments for management staff
•    Be responsible for housing policy
•    Management of administrative expenditure
•    Be responsible for Annual Report and other official documents
•    Acts in the absence of the Director-General
•    Performs any other duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director-General or the Board from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

•    A good first degree or its equivalent from a recognised University
•    A post-graduate diploma or master's degree in Mass Communication or related field
•    A minimum ten (10) years' post-qualification experience, five (5) years of which must have been in a senior management position
•    Must be competent in one or more of the following fields of endeavour, public utility operation and practice, industry, broadcasting, trade, finance, science and administration
