The University of Education, Winneba, invites applications from suitably qualified competent individuals for the position of Director, Directorate of Research, Innovation & Development (DRID).

Applications are invited from suitably qualified staff of the University for appointment as Director for the Directorate of Research, Innovation & Development (DRID) in the University of Education, Winneba.

The Directorate of Research, Innovation and Development (DRID) shall operate under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

Responsibilities:

Per the Statutes of UEW, the Director of the DRID shall:

• identify funding agencies;
• keep UEW abreast of current calls for proposals from funding agencies;
• coordinate and ensure that proposals are written to meet donors’ requirements;
• co-ordinate the implementation of externally funded projects;
• report on the implementation of externally funded projects to management and donors;
• provide technical advice to proposal writing teams on donor requirements;
• source, co-ordinate and report on consultancy services;
• track the implementation of projects according to approved action plans;
• initiate actions to promote research and grantsmanship among staff; and
• initiate capacity development programmes for staff of the University.

Minimum Requirements:

Staff seeking appointment as Director must:

• be of professorial rank OR
• possess a terminal degree
• be a Senior Lecturer (for at least four (4) years) and have eight (8) papers after last promotion.
