Job Vacancy For Director, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT)
A reputable public sector institution is seeking to recruit Director, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT)
The role
•This is a strategic-level position that reports to the Chief Executive of the institution and the incumbent is to provide strategic, technical, and operational support to achieve the objectives of the ICT unit.
Key Responsibilities
•Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the ICT Unit, aligned with the institution's overall vision and objectives
•Establish and maintain ICT policies, standards, procedures and systems to support the strategic objectives of the institution
•Supervise the institution's technological operations, ensuring the effective implementation of new ICT systems and policies and evaluate their performance against established goals and best practices
•Drive the achievement of short, medium and long-term goals of the institution through ICT initiatives
•Provide expert advice to top management on ICT-related issues, trends and opportunities.
•Direct and manage ICT staff responsible for system operations and support, setting clear performance targets and fostering professional growth
•Assess the technological requirements of all units, and departments and provide ICT solutions to meet organizational needs
•Acquire efficient and cost-effective hardware and software solutions, ensuring optimal resource utilisation
•Inspect and monitor the use of technological equipment and software to guarantee functionality, efficiency and compliance with standards
•Identify opportunities for system upgrades or new technologies and present recommendations to management
•Support the development of strong vendor relationships and negotiate cost-efficient contracts to maximise value
•Lead and control the unit's budget, ensuring accountability and timely reporting on expenditure
•Consolidate and present quarterly, mid-year and annual reports on the unit's activities and achievements
Qualification Required & Experience
•A minimum of a First Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution and a Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
•Must have a relevant advanced professional level qualification or industry skill-based certification
•A minimum of 15 years post bachelor's degree relevant working experience in a reputable organisation 5 years of which must be in a Senior Management Position (preferably in ICT practice)

•Demonstrable knowledge and skills in Artificial intelligence.
