The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, established by an Act of Parliament, Act 588 of 2000, as the sole Agency in Ghana responsible for all matters relating to peaceful uses of atmoic energy, invites applications for the following position: Director of Human Resource

The Position

• The Director of Human Resource is a key member of the Executive Management Team of the Commission is expected to give strategic direction in Human Resource and required to ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.
• The Director of Human Resource will report directly to the Director-General

Duties/Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing and formulating Human Resources (HR) policies in areas such as staff appraisals, career development, planning, compensations and benefits etc
• Managing the staffing programmes of the commission
• Directing and coordinating staff development, employee relations, compensation, safety and health
• Coordinating with the various institutes and supporting services for effective and efficient management of the activities of the Human Resource Directorate
• Providing strategic directions, having in-depth knowledge of the operation of the Commission in areas such as corporate governance, Human Resource and strategic management
• Enduring compliance with regulatory and statutory documents such as the Labour Act, Workman's compensation, Procurement Act, Public Financial Management Act, etc
• Serving as a secretary to the Appointment and Promotion Committee
• Any other duties to be assigned by the Director-General

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must possess at least a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management or pychology with adequate training and experience in Human Resource Management (HRM). A PhD in Human Resource management will be an added advantage
• Must have at least 15 years relevant experience
• Must have a minimum of 10 years experience at senior management level
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills in Human resource management
• Must have good interpersonal relationship and communication skills
• Must not be more than 55 years

Tenure

The position is for a 5 year term only but may be renewed for a second term
