West-View Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Dispensing Technician to join our pharmacy department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical aspects of preparing and distributing medicines, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Medication Dispensing: Accurately interpreting, assembling, and labeling prescriptions in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Stock Management: Monitoring inventory levels, performing regular stock counts, and ensuring the correct storage of vaccines and temperature-sensitive medications.
• Patient Counseling: Advising patients on the correct use of their medications, potential side effects, and general health inquiries.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintaining precise records of all dispensed medications and ensuring the pharmacy operates within legal and ethical frameworks.
• Administrative Support: Utilizing pharmacy management software to process orders and maintain updated patient profiles.

Qualification Required & Experience

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Must hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology.
• Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy environment is preferred.
• Core Competencies:
• Excellent knowledge of drug names, dosages, and pharmaceutical calculations.
• High level of precision and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
