World Vision has been working with urban and rural communities in all the 10 Regions of Ghana to improve provision of water, promote sanitation and hygiene practices and quality education, particularly at the basic level, enhance food security and respond to disasters.

Job Summary:

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for highly qualified, proactive, motivational and resourceful persons to fill the above position.

Reports to: Strategy and Technical Specialist Manager
Supervises: None

Purpose of the position:
To provide professional and technical advice and expertise to guide Education programming in all relevant areas of World Vision Ghana projects and assist and support all projects and programmes to integrate Education and align them to the National Office and Sector Strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

•  Strategy Development: Lead in the development, co-ordination, implementation, reporting and review of the Education Sector strategy for World Vision Ghana
•  Resource Acquisition: Contribute in the process of identification, assessment and design of new programmes and projects, including participation in developing grant proposals, logframes, monitoring and evaluation plans and budgets in line with the LEAP framework
•  Capacity Building: Provide education technical support programmes and projects through providing targeted training, tools and resources on a regular basis to facilitate timely and quality delivery of programmes
•  Monitoring, Evaluation & Planning: Support education sector programmes planning, monitoring evaluation, and reporting processes, with development of tools that can facilitate effective implementation and quality of integrated project deliveries
•  Technical input: Participate, review and provide educational technical input to the entire LEAP/DME cycle of World Vision Ghana programmes to ensure the achievement of the Child Well-Being Targets
•  Mainstreaming: Ensure the mainstreaming of cross-cutting themes in all World Vision Ghana Education programmes, in particular the integration of child protection & participation, advocacy, disability and gender, Ensure focus on Child Well-being outcomes, in particular the education outcome, in all Education programmes
•  Integration: Ensure the effective sustainable integration of education in all relevant World Vision Ghana intervention and ministry areas
•  Advocacy, Partnerships and Networking: Establish and maintain prominent visibility of World Vision Ghana on all Education platforms in Ghana leading to World Vision Ghana's potency to advocate on issues relating to Child Well-Being
•  Information Management: Establish and maintain an accurate and up-to-date dashboard of all programme documents, resources, lessons and good practices, and facilitate their circulation and use within the NO, across the partnership and with partners
•  Innovation: Facilitate the introduction of new, innovative practices, methodologies or concepts in World Vision Ghana Education programmes. Closely support Literacy boost and other innovative projects and their research documentation and communication process while side by side studying the room for expansion into other areas
•  Building Partnerships: Pursue, develop and maintain meaningful and formal partnerships with Government, UN agencies, NGO's, research institutions and other community stakeholders that will compliment WVG Education programme

Qualification Required & Experience

Job Specification:
Minimum Education level required:

•  Education: Bachelor Degree in Education or social sciences
•  Preferred: Master's degree in Education, social work or social sciences or related discipline. Working experience in community development
•  Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in managing an education project

Technical Skills & Abilities:

•  Strong project management skills and good understanding of the project life cycle
•  Excellent understanding of Education best practices and life skills approaches in community development
•  Experience with development project management tools such as logframes, monitoring and evaluation tools and budgets
•  Good supervision skills, including training, mentoring and supporting staff
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills
•  Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Statistical Packages and Lotus Notes (or another main email system such as Microsoft Outlook)
