OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
To perform high voltage electrical work, installations, maintenance, and repairs in line with OEM specifications and AAIL standard operating procedures, and report deviations as required.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Monitor high voltage systems and identify areas for improvement.
•Carry out maintenance programs for high voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and substations.
•Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system faults to minimise downtime and operational disruption.
•Diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems, starters, and related electrical equipment.
•Conduct daily inspections, scheduled maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical E&I anomalies in line with procedures.
•Ensure all work is completed safely in accordance with ISO and OSHAS standards, including proper completion of work permits and lock-out procedures before work starts.
Qualification Required & Experience
Education & Qualification
•Electrical Technician Part II and III, or HND Electrical Engineering.
Experience
•Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a mining environment, especially milling or CIL plants.
Knowledge & Skills
•In-depth knowledge of high voltage power systems, including substations, transformers, and power distribution networks.
•Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
•Ability to report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and participate in investigations.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality of work.
•Good written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people of diverse cultures and values.
•Valid Ghanaian driving licence and ability to drive a light vehicle.
